Our drive to Tucson, Arizona went smoothly.  It was good timing as since then, we've heard about a snow storm in Amarillo, TX and Tulsa, OK -- both cities that we drove through on our way down.
Here a few photos of the area around our Home away from Home... on a hike up the mountainside to natural pools waterfalls, views of our backyard, etc.
  The picture of me surrounded by white sand dunes is in New Mexico at White Sands National Monument.  The white sand is actually gypsum that has eroded off the mountain side and has formed into acres and acres of dunes -- in fact, 275 square miles of sand dunes.  It was cool!

Dinner w/Mom & Dad

Thursday night dinner, when Russ got to their house to pick them up Dad was sleeping and Mom was still in her nightgown. I made "turkey" chili which was delicious and corn bread w/ a peach crisp for dessert.  Mom ate most of her serving but no dessert while Dad had two servings w/dessert & coffee.

Here are some photos of dinner last night, I made for the first time (from scratch) Chicken Pot Pie and for dessert Apple Tart Tatin, YUMMY!! They ate a lot, Dad had seconds and Mom loved the dessert w/ice cream. All of these recipes were from my Weight Watchers cookbook so they were low in sugar & fat.
